Project overview:
A 20ft high cube container was transformed into a fully equipped tiny house, designed with sustainability, comfort and Scandinavian aesthetics in mind. To expand the living space, a second 20ft container chassis – the floor frame of a used shipping container – was repurposed and modified into a raised outdoor terrace in front of the unit.

Key features & design highlights

  • Compact living, fully equipped
    Despite the limited footprint, the tiny house includes a fully functional kitchen, bathroom, sleeping area and ample storage – all laid out efficiently to maximise comfort and usability.
  • Eco-friendly insulation
    The container was insulated using sustainable, breathable materials, offering excellent thermal performance while aligning with ecological building principles.
  • Container-based terrace
    The adjacent terrace was constructed from the floor section of a decommissioned 20ft container, carefully modified to serve as a solid, elevated outdoor area, visually and structurally integrated with the main unit.
  • Nordic-inspired interior
    The interior features florist elements and a minimalist Scandinavian design, with natural tones, clever built-ins and bright surfaces creating a calming, modern atmosphere.
  • Self-sufficient & off-grid ready
    The tiny house was designed to be modular, movable and easily upgradable, making it suitable for both urban backyards and off-grid rural land.

Result

A compact yet luxurious retreat that combines industrial upcycling with modern living comfort. This project proves how even a single 20ft container when thoughtfully designed can become a cozy, sustainable home with personality and purpose.
