Project overview
For the long-term preservation of a classic VW T2 camper van, a 20ft side door shipping container was installed at a private residence to store the vehicle safely during the winter months. The van is used seasonally and only driven in summer, making secure off-season storage essential.

Why a side door container?

  • Easy access to both vehicle doors:
    The unique side door configuration allowed the client to comfortably open both the driver’s door and the sliding side door of the T2 while inside the container – something not possible with standard front-access containers.

    The container provided a dry, enclosed and lockable environment, protecting the vintage vehicle from moisture, UV light, vandalism and weather exposure throughout the winter.

    The container became a practical and flexible garage, enabling the client to drive the van in and out during the warmer months with no need for external storage facilities or workshops.
